Comedians Play as Seiya, Thanatos in Saint Seiya: Brave Soldiers PS3 Game

Comedians possessed by gods battle in PS3 game arriving this fall

Namco Bandai Games streamed a new video for the PlayStation 3 game Saint Seiya: Brave Soldier on Friday. The video episode features the comic duo Monster Engine — Yōichi Nishimori is taken over by monotone gods. The gods that have possessed the comedians say that there is an interesting game in the human realm, and play the PlayStation 3 game as Seiya and Thanatos, respectively. The small warning text at the bottom of the screen reads, “Those who are not gods, please use the controller properly.”

Dimps is developing the game, which will include over 50 playable characters from the Sanctuary, Poseidon, and Hades arcs of Masami Kurumada's mythological fantasy manga and anime. Up to two players can fight as Pegasus Seiya, Phoenix Ikki, Andromeda Shun, Cygnus Hyōga, Dragon Shiryū, and more. Gemini Saga, Sea King Poseidon, and Meiō Hades will also appear for the first time in a game adaptation as bosses. Players will be able to enhance their characters' hit points, strength levels and "Cosmos Power Gauge" as they progress through the game.

The game is slated for release in Japan on October 17. The first copies of the game will come with a product code for Gold Cloth Shion and saint custom theme. There will be a limited-edition 13,480-yen (US$135) Pegasus Box with the game itself, a Pegasus Seiya Shinsei Bronze Cloth Original Color Edition figure, a product code for the same Bronze Cloth in the game, and a box.

Namco Bandai Games is also releasing the game outside of Japan in North America, Europe, Australasia, and South America. The game will be a digital download in North America on November 26, and in stores in Mexico, Brazil, and the rest of Latin America.
