Crimson Star Media's Corey Maddox Sentenced to 1 Year in Prison

Registered sex offender found guilty for parole violation

The Georgia Department of Corrections reports that Crimson Star Media head Corey Maddox was found guilty and sentenced on October 21 on charges of violating probation. Maddox is serving time in the Coffee Correctional Facility in Nicholls, Georgia with a release date scheduled at the latest for January 22, 2015.

According to the local Atlanta television station WSB-TV, Maddox was arrested in 2008 on nine counts of sexual exploitation of children. Police at that time said they found photographs of children between the ages of 5 to 10 years old "that appeared to be sexual in nature." Maddox is listed on the Sex Offender Registry in Georgia for the same crime with a conviction date of October 6, 2010.

Crimson Star Media was founded on May 8, and the company announced its first anime acquisition in June for the 2006 television anime series Looking Up At The Half-Moon (Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora). Amazon no longer lists a release date for the anime, and Right Stuf currently lists the release as no longer available.
