Sword Art Online/Accel World's Kawahara to Print Absolute Solitude Novels

posted on by Egan Loo
Reki Kawahara plans to revise web novel he once serialized alongside SAO

Light novelist Reki Kawahara (Sword Art Online, Accel World) announced on Saturday that he is publishing a new series, tentatively titled Zettai Naru Kodoku (Absolute Solitude), under Kadokawa's Dengeki Bunko imprint this summer. Artist Shimeji is illustrating the series. The end of his 16th Accel World light novel volume debuted on Saturday with an announcement page on Zettai Naru Kodoku.

Kawahara noted that he originally serialized Zettai Naru Kodoku alongside Sword Art Online on his homepage. However, after he made his professional debut, he completely stopped updating Zettai Naru Kodoku.

He added that there are no signs of either Accel World or Sword Art Online ending. He undoubtedly plans to make major revisions to Zettai Naru Kodoku for its print edition. He acknowledged that means he will be working on three series at once (four if you count Sword Art Online: Progressive separately from the main series, he mused), so he asked for his readers' support.

Yen Press will publish the Sword Art Online novels in North America. Both Sword Art Online and Accel World inspired anime.
