Tenchu Ninja Action Games Get Stage Play Next Month

Original story about Ayame's disappearance & fight between Rikimaru & original character

From Software announced on Friday that a stage play adaptation of its Tenchu video game series has been green-lit.

The play will be held at the Theater Sun Mall in Tokyo's Shinjuku ward once a day from May 7 to 11. During this time, a pamphlet featuring an original illustration of Ayame drawn will be sold (seen above).

The story takes place after some time has passed since Rikimaru became head of the East ninja clan with female ninja Ayame by his side. During a fight between the assassin Rin and Rikimaru, a ninja who shoulders a painful past, Ayame goes missing. The country begins to shake when the Goda clan is faced with a dilemma. "The Goda clan sends an emergency message! Where is the Princess Kiku, and what is she thinking? What will she do as the princess of an entire country?"

The latest game in the franchise, Tenchu: Shadow Assassins, was released in 2008 for the Wii and PSP.
