DISACODE's Akira Sings New Black Butler TV Anime's Ending

Kera magazine model makes solo debut with "Aoki Tsuki Michite" in July

The official website for the Black Butler: Book of Circus television anime series announced on Friday that fashion model and singer Akira will perform the ending theme song "Aoki Tsuki Michite" (Blue Full Moon). The anime will premiere this July, and Sony Music Entertainment will sell the song's CD single on July 30.

Akira was born in Chiba Prefecture and enrolled in Ferris University, a Japanese women's college, at the age of 18. She then made her debut as a model in the fashion magazine Kera. As a top model of boy's style clothing, she frequently adorned the covers of both Kera and its sibling publication Kera Boku. She also became popular outside Japan after appearing at fashion shows at France's Japan Expo and many other overseas events.

Akira has been the vocalist of the band DISACODE since its founding (under its original name "Akira with Tetrahaze") in 2008. She is making her debut as a solo musical artist this summer. On the anime's website, she professed her love for Black Butler and added that she is thrilled and considers it an honor to be able to take part in the anime.

The third television anime inspired by Yana Toboso's Black Butler manga will premiere in the Animeism programming block on Japan's MBS, TBS, CBC, and BS-TBS channels in July. The four-man rock band SID created their new song "Enamel" for the opening theme, after performing the opening theme song "Monochrome no Kiss" for the first television anime (2008-2009).
