Liar-soft Ex-Writer Hikaru Sakurai Plans Meian no Keruneteru With Manga Artist, Animator

Hikaru Sakurai, a former writer of Liar-soft's Steampunk Series of visual novels, revealed on Sunday that she is collaborating on a new project tentatively titled Meian no Keruneteru for next year. The project's format is unspecified, but Sakurai teases the story with a logline:

The first century A.D. The ruler of the underworld. The mage. The false deity. The golden sword.

Sakurai is credited with the original concept and script for the project. Manga artist Mami Itoh (Pilgrim Jäger, Street Fighter Gaiden, Darkstalkers / Red Earth: Maleficarum) is designing the characters, and Tetsuya Takeuchi (Yuri Seijin Naoko-san, I couldn't become a hero, so I reluctantly decided to get a job.) is serving as animation director. Ikuo Satō is planning the project, which he describes as "a little revolutionary."

Sakurai's circle will distribute a flyer on the project at Comic Market 87 on Tuesday. In the image above, the characters are labeled from left to right as Helena, Simon Magus, and Nephren-Ka.

In addition to writing several of Liar-soft's titles such as Shiei no Sona-nyl -What a beautiful memories-, Sakurai has penned novels such as Fate/Prototype Sōgin no Fragments, Kaijin no Karusheeru -What a beautiful sanctuary-, and Psycho-Pass Legends Suisekisha Kagari Shūsei.
