My Love Story/Ore Monogatari Anime Promo Previews Opening Theme Song

posted on by Karen Ressler
Shojo anime to premiere April 8

The official website for the television anime of Kazune Kawahara and Aruko's My Love Story!! (Ore Monogatari!!) manga began streaming a promotional video on Friday. The video previews the theme song "Miraikei Answer" by Trustick, and announces the anime's April 8 premiere date.

In the beginning of the video, the main character introduces himself:

I am Takeo Gōda. I'm 2 meters tall and I weigh 120 kilos. The girls I love always fall in love with my childhood friend Suna. But spring is coming for me... maybe.

The anime's main cast will include:

Morio Asaka (Chihayafuru, Aoi Bungaku Series' No Longer Human, NANA, Card Captor Sakura) is directing the anime at the Studio Madhouse (Parasyte, Hunter x Hunter, Summer Wars, Paprika). Natsuko Takahashi (Brothers Conflict, Nobunaga Concerto, Akatsuki no Yona, Yōkai Watch) is in charge of the series scripts, and Kunihiko Hamada (Chihayafuru, NANA, Monster, Summer Wars) is designing the characters.

Local Connect is performing the ending theme "Shiawase no ari ka."

Viz Media is publishing the shōjo romantic comedy manga in North America, and it describes the story:

Takeo Gōda is a giant guy with a giant heart. Too bad the girls don't want him! (They want his good-looking best friend, Sunakawa.) Used to being on the sidelines, Takeo simply stands tall and accepts his fate. But one day when he saves a girl named Yamato from a harasser on the train, his (love!) life suddenly takes an incredible turn!

Kawahara debuted the original 100-page version of the story in Bessatsu Margaret Sister magazine in October 2011, but the manga then returned in Bessatsu Margaret as a serialized work.
