Elex Media Licenses Girls und Panzer: Little Army, Mori no Naka Bookstore Manga

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Both manga slated for release on Wednesday

Indonesian publisher Elex Media Komputindo announced on Monday that it has licensed Tsuchii's Girls und Panzer: Little Army manga, and Yuzuko Ikura's Mori no Naka Bookstore (Mori no Naka Shoten Tsurezure) manga. Elex Media will begin releasing both manga on Wednesday.

The Girls und Panzer: Little Army manga is a prequel to the Girls und Panzer television anime series, centering on the anime's main character Miho Nishizumi and her life in elementary school, when she was still proud of her talent and family's history in tankery. She found her first friends through the sport, and the manga tackles the story of why she eventually gave it up.

Tsuchii launched the manga in Kadokawa's Comic Alive magazine in 2012, and ended the manga the next year. Kadokawa (Media Factory) published the manga's two compiled book volumes. Tsuchii launched a sequel manga series titled Girls und Panzer: Little Army II in Comic Alive on April 27. Kadokawa published the sequel manga's first compiled book volume on August 22.

The original Girls und Panzer anime series aired from 2012 to 2013. An anime film sequel opened in Japan on November 21.

The Mori no Naka Bookstore manga is a collection of four stories centering on a bookstore that is neither in the city nor in the countryside. The bookstore's shopkeeper Yamada is always busy helping customers. The manga tells four stories centering on a boy searching for the Japanese legal codes, an obstinate man, a girl in love, and a novelist in a slump.

Ikura launched the manga in Hakusensha's LaLa Melody Online web manga magazine (now the Hana LaLa Online web magazine) in 2013, and ended it in the same year. Hakusensha published the manga's first and only compiled book volume in August 2014.
