Sono 'Okodawari,' Ore ni mo Kure Yo!! Manga Gets Live-Action Series

Mayu Matsuoka, Sairi Itō star as fictional portrayals of themselves in April series

A live-action television series adaptation of Tōru Seino's Sono 'Okodawari,' Ore ni mo Kure yo! (Give me Those Fixations Too!) manga has been green-lit. The series has been retitled as Sono 'Okodawari,' Watashi ni mo Kure yo!! (same meaning, but with a neutral personal pronoun), and will star Mayu Matsuoka (seen left in picture below) and Sairi Itō (right). The show will premiere on TV Tokyo and TV Osaka in April, and will air every Friday.

Seino's original comedy manga portrays a fictionalized version of the author, who attempts to uncover the various small fixations and obsessions that people have related to things such as their food or lifestyle, but otherwise hide in daily life.

While the live-action series will be conceptually similar to the manga, the show will instead have Matsuoka and Itō portraying fictionalized versions of themselves, with elements of their real personalities included. In the show, Matsuoka is portrayed as someone who appears in many dramas and variety shows, and prioritizes being what everyone expects her to be instead of what she wants. Itō is portrayed as a freewheeling actress whom Matsuoka worries about.

The series will be shot in a fake documentary style.

Tetsuaki Matsue will direct the series, and Takeshi Takemura will pen the scripts. Both also worked on a live-action series adaptation of Seino's Tokyo-to Kita-ku Akabane manga last year. Tarō Nakasa will compose the music.

Seino launched the original manga in Kodansha's Morning two magazine in December 2014. Kodansha published the manga's first compiled book volume last June, and will publish the second volume on Friday.
