Game about isolated island ships on PC on April 28

Visual novel developer Frontwing announced on Friday that it and Prototype's ISLAND visual novel is getting a television anime adaptation.

Frontwing plans to release the visual novel on PC on April 28, on the PlayStation Vita in May 2016, and on Android devices sometime in 2016. Frontwing had announced in December that it is considering an overseas release for the game.

Frontwing describes the game as follows:

Urashima, an ISLAND far from the mainland. The people who live there lead carefree lives. But five years ago, the ISLAND's three great families suffered a series of misfortunes, and succumbed to suspicion. The people of the ISLAND cut off all contact with the mainland, and began a slow decline. The key to saving the ISLAND lies in three girls who belong to the three families. But they are bound by old traditions, and are conflicted. On that ISLAND, a lone man washes ashore. The man claims to be from the future, and he begins a solitary struggle to change the ISLAND's fate.

In the game's world, the ISLAND is closed off to outside contact due to a local disease known as "Baimonbyō" (Soot Crest Sickness) that was transmitted from the mainland. On the ISLAND, there is a legend of a tragic love between a boy named Setsuna, and a girl named Rinne. With the appearance of two individuals bearing the same name, the islanders ponder the legend's significance.

The game's main cast includes:

Kana Asumi as Karen Kurutsu (pictured left in above image). She is the daughter of the town mayor. Her manners and speech are both rough, and she carries a knife with her everywhere she goes. She is right in the middle of her rebellious phase. She is a girl of common sense among the islanders, and a late bloomer in matters of love. Five years ago, her mother abandoned her family and the ISLAND and crossed to the mainland. She has always admired her mother, and she herself dreams of escaping the ISLAND to the mainland.

Rie Murakawa as Sara Garando (pictured right). She is Urashima Shrine's sole miko. She has a great fascination with curses and supernatural powers, and has never really stopped believing in unscientific powers. She claims to have a connection with another time traveler from the future. She is the ISLAND's enthusiastic believer and little idol. Ever since she lost her parents in the fire five years ago, she has lived in a prefab cabin on the ISLAND.

Yukari Tamura as Rinne Ohara (pictured center). She is one of the daughters of the three families. She is a recluse who lives a nocturnal lifestyle, and goes out of the house only at night. While blunt and curt to a fault, she romantically considers herself a "princess." Five years ago, she was taken away by spirits, and she has never told anyone. What does she know about Setsuna?

The game's protagonist is:

Setsuna Sanzenkai: He is a young man who washed up naked on the sandy beaches of the ISLAND. He was rescued by Rinne and begins living in the employ of the Ohara family as their servant. He claims to come from the future to save the world, but cannot even remember who gave him the mission. With a mysterious confidence and optimism, he continues to smash every tradition on the ISLAND.

Ryuichiro Yamakawa is producing the game. Yōsai Kūchū is drawing the original images and designing the characters. G.O. is writing the scenario.

Frontwing's The Fruit of Grisaia visual novel received a 13-episode television anime adaptation, which premiered in October 2014, followed by anime adaptations of The Labyrinth of Grisaia and The Eden of Grisaia in April 2015. Crunchyroll streamed both The Fruit of Grisaia and The Eden of Grisaia series as they aired in Japan, and also streamed the The Labyrinth of Grisaia original video animation.
