Musical Group ALTIMA Announces Hiatus

Vocalist MAON, former m.o.v.e rapper MOTSU, fripSide producer SAT aim to recharge

The three-member music unit ALTIMA announced on Friday that they are going on hiatus. The members made the announcement on the first day of the "Animelo Summer Live 2016 -Toki-" concert event at the Saitama Super Arena. They explained that they are "going into a recharging phase to become even bigger."

The group formed in 2011 with Maon Kurosaki (MAON) as the main vocalist, King Cream Soda and former m.o.v.e member MOTSU as the rapper, and fripSide's Satoshi Yaginuma (SAT) as the sound producer and synthesizer player. ALTIMA released their debut single, "I'll Believe," in December 2011 as the first ending theme to the anime series Shakugan no Shana III (Final).

The group have since contributed the second ending theme song "ONE" for Shakugan no Shana III (Final), the second opening theme "Burst The Gravity" for the Accel World anime, and the second opening theme song "Fight 4 Real" for the Strike the Blood anime. They released their first and thus far only album, TRYANGLE, in 2014, and then performed at Otakon that same year.

At Friday's concert, the group joined musician KOTOKO in performing the Accel World: Infinite Burst theme song "Plasmic Fire."
