Transformers: The Movie Released Monday (Updated)

Limited Edition Blu-ray Steelbook by Manga Entertainment, also MVM's Blu-ray of Ergo Proxy

On Monday December 12, Manga Entertainment will release Transformers: The Movie (the 1986 US movie animated by Toei Animation) as a 30th Anniversary Limited Edition Blu-ray Steelbook.

The film has been restored and remastered from a 4K transfer of the original 35mm film elements. The extras will include a documentary called "Til All Are One," featuring story consultant Flint Dille, cast members Gregg Berger, Neil Ross, Dan Gilvezan, singer/songwriter Stan Bush, composer Vince DiCola and others.

The film will also have an audio commentary with director Nelson Shin, story consultant Flint Dille and actor Susan Blu. There will also be featurettes and animated storyboards.

The film includes the voices of Orson Welles, Peter Cullen, Eric Idle, Casey Kasem, Judd Nelson, Leonard Nimoy, Robert Stack and Frank Welker.

MVM is releasing a Blu-ray edition of the 23-part series Ergo Proxy. In this series by the Manglobe studio, the world has become largely uninhabitable over the course of time and now what remains of humanity exists inside large dome-like cities. When androds known as AutoReivs begin committing crimes and displaying a semblance of freewill Re-L Mayer begins investigating the cause. This takes her on an adventure that encourages her to ask deep philosophical questions about herself, her companions Vincent and Pino, as well as the world they live in.
