Long Riders!, Waiting in Summer Singer Ray Retires This Summer

To Love Ru: Darkness singer celebrates 5th anniversary as performer this year

Japanese singer Ray announced on her official blog on Wednesday that she is retiring. She said that she will hold her final live performances this summer and "graduate" from her activities as a musical artist.

Ray said that this year marks her fifth anniversary since debuting as a singer. She is preparing for a solo anniversary performance next month. The singer plans to perform at events and continue her artist activities until she retires later this year.

She thanked fans for their support and said she enjoyed meeting them and making people happy over the years. However, she started to think about her life and future last year and began to wonder if she is capable of something besides singing. Ray decided she wanted to pursue a new dream and consulted with her staff about the "selfish" decision.

Ray performed the opening theme song "♡km/h" for the Long Riders! television anime, which premiered last October. She has also performed theme songs for anime such as Waiting in the Summer, To Love Ru: Darkness, Wakaba Girl, and AOKANA: Four Rhythm Across the Blue.
