An animation project based on Bandai Namco Entertainment's digital "dramatic idol-training card game" The Idolm@ster SideM has been green-lit. The announcement was made at The Idolm@ster SideM 2nd Stage ~Origin@l Stars~ concert on Sunday. The event featured the following promotional video and teaser visual of the in-story unit Dramatic Stars.

The Idolm@ster SideM will have another event that the Niconico Live service will stream at the Ani-On Station Akihabara venue in Tokyo on March 15 ("315 Day"). The event will feature voice actors Shugo Nakamura and Yūma Uchida, and it will also reveal a new visual, the production staff, and other details for the anime. The anime's official website will have more details, and the April issue of Gakken's Otomedia magazine (on sale March 10) will highlight the franchise on its cover and in the lead feature.

The Idolm@ster SideM game launched in July 2014, and is available for iOS and Android devices, as well as on Mobage and ChromeApps. Like other games in The IDOLM@STER franchise, SideM is built on the concept of "idols you can produce." The app focuses on the male idols at the agency 315 Production (pronounced "Saikō Production" or "Ultimate Production"). The app now has more than one million downloads.

Bandai Namco Entertainment announced at Saturday's The Idolm@ster SideM 2nd Stage ~Origin@l Stars~ concert that it is also developing The Idolm@ster SideM Live On St@ge app.
