Senran Kagura Games Get 2nd TV Anime Season

posted on by Jennifer Sherman
Crunchyroll streams 1st TV anime that debuted in 2013

Marvelous and Honey∞Parade Games announced during a live streaming event on Tuesday that planning of a second television anime season based on the Senran Kagura game series is progressing. The announcement appears at the end of the video below.

The Senran Kagura: Ninja Flash! television anime premiered in 2013, followed by the Senran Kagura: Estival Versus - Festival Eve Full of Swimsuits original video anime (OVA) in 2015. Funimation streamed the television series as it aired in Japan, and released the series on Blu-ray Disc and DVD.

Crunchyroll is currently streaming the series, and it describes the story:

Super cute Asuka and her curvy companions appear to be your typical high school students, but they've got an outrageous secret: they're learning the wild ways of the ninja! Get a lesson in action, naughtiness, and sexy slapstick fun as Asuka's gang takes on the toughest (and hottest) fighters in town! Fan service fanatics won't want to miss a minute!

The anime is based on the Nintendo 3DS game of the same name, which debuted in Japan in September 2011. The latest game release in the series is Senran Kagura Peach Beach Splash, a PlayStation 4 game that shipped in Japan on March 16. XSEED Games will release the game in North America and Europe this fall.

Marvelous recently established a new subsidiary called Honey∞Parade Games on May 9, focused on the production and promotion of the Senran Kagura series, and headed by series producer Kenichirō Takaki.
