Pazudora Z manga also licensed

Indonesian publisher Elex Media Komputindo announced last Friday that it has licensed Jun Mochizuki's Vanitas no Carte (Memoir of Vanitas), Hiroki Yagami's Dear Boys Overtime, and Momota Inoue's Pazudora Z manga.

The Vanitas no Carte manga is set in Paris during the 19th century, and centers on Noé, a vampire who travels to Paris in search of the fabled clockwork grimoire "The Book of Vanitas." There, Noé meets a black-haired man named Vanitas who calls himself a vampire doctor.

Mochizuki launched the manga in Square Enix's Gangan Joker magazine in December 2015. Square Enix published the manga's fourth compiled book volume last November.

Elex Media previously published all 24 volumes of Mochizuki's Pandora Hearts manga. The manga inspired a television anime adaptation in 2009.

Dear Boys Overtime is a sequel and epilogue to Yagami's long-running Dear Boys manga. The epilogue manga tells the stories of different characters after the events of the main Dear Boys Act 3 manga.

Yagami launched the manga in Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Magazine in February 2016, and ended it in January 2017. Kodansha published the manga's third and final compiled book volume in February 2017.

Yagami's original Dear Boys manga focuses on Kazuhiko Aikawa, a transfer student to Mizuho High School. A lack of players and a coach quitting due to conflict with a student leaving the team has left the Mizuho High School basketball team gutted. Aikawa joins, and brings the team back to competitive shape through his love of the game. Eventually, the manga shares its focus between the Mizuho High School team and the teams and players of other schools.

Yagami launched the first manga in the series in 1989, ended it in 1997, and followed this with the Dear Boys: The Early Days prequel manga from February to May 1997. Yagami launched a sequel manga, Dear Boys Act II, in 1997, and ended it in 2008. Dear Boys Act II won the Kodansha Manga Award for shōnen manga in 2007. Yamgami launched Dear Boys Act 3 in December 2008, and ended it in December 2015. The manga inspired a 26-episode television anime series, which premiered in Japan in 2003.

Elex Media previously published all volumes of previous installments in the Dear Boys manga series.

Pazudora Z is based on GungHo Online Entertainment's Puzzle & Dragons Z Nintendo 3DS game. The manga centers on Zet, a dragon tamer who meets and befriends a small dragon named Syrup. Their adventures pit them against the evil Paradox organization, whose members are bent on sowing chaos and confusion throughout the world.

The manga launched in Shogakukan's Coro Coro Comics magazine in 2013, and ended in 2015. Shogakukan published four compiled book volumes for the manga.

A separate Nintendo 3DS game in the Puzzle & Dragons franchise, Puzzle & Dragons X, previously inspired a television anime in July 2016. The anime's second season premiered last April. A manga adaptation of the game, also by Momota Inoue, launched in Coro Coro Comics in April 2016, and ended last June. Shogakukan published the second and final compiled book volume last July.

The franchise is inspiring a new television anime in April.
