Hong Kong content distributor MediaLink Entertainment Limited's Ani-One YouTube channel announced on Wednesday that it will stream the Sekaiichi Hatsukoi: Propose-hen anime film based on Shungiku Nakamura's The World's Greatest First Love: The Case of Ritsu Onodera boys-love manga on August 15 at 5:30 p.m. IST. Ani-One also started streaming a trailer with English subtitles worldwide on Wednesday.

The film debuted in Japan on February 21 and shipped on Blu-ray Disc and DVD on June 26.

Tomoya Takahashi (Thundercats 2011) directed the film. Yoshiko Nakamura (Shin chan) wrote the screenplay. Yōko Kikuchi designed (.hack//Legend of the Twilight, Kuroko's Basketball) the characters. Masaki Mayuzumi (Tokyo Ghoul background artist) was the art director. Hozumi Gōda (Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni Kai) was the sound director.

The original manga follows the tension between a newly recruited manga editor named by Ritsu Onodera and his tyrannical editor-in-chief Masamune Takano — who happen to share a common past.

The manga debuted in Kadokawa's The Ruby magazine in 2006, and moved to Asuka Ciel in 2009, before moving to Emerald in August 2014. Kadokawa published the manga's 15th compiled book volume on May 1. Viz Media's SuBLime imprint is publishing the manga in English, and it released the 13th volume on April 14.

The manga has inspired previous anime adaptations. The first and second television seasons premiered in April and October 2011, respectively. Two oriignal video anime (OVA) releases shipped with the fifth and sixth compiled volumes of the manga.

An earlier film, Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi: Yokozawa Takafumi no Baai, opened in 2014.
