Tune in Tokyo Presents HARAJUKU HOLIDAY: Lolita Fashion Showcase at Royal/T with Special Guests May J. and Joe Inoue

LOS ANGELES, CA (February 2, 2012)— Tune in Tokyo presents HARAJUKU HOLIDAY, a Lolita Fashion Showcase and J-Pop Dance Party at the world-famous Royal/T Café, Shop & Artspace on Wednesday, February 22nd! May J. and Joe Inoue, hosts of NHK World's "J-MELO" English-language music show, will appear at the event for a fan meet & greet, and will also be performing live! 

Experience the sights and sounds of Japan's street fashion capital with TUNE IN TOKYO as Lolita Fashion & Japanese music and pop culture come together! There will be a Lolita Fashion Show spotlighting new and classic looks for 2012, Valentine-themed games, Lolita clothing and accessories vendors, a photo booth by cosplay and Japanese street fashion photographer Ben Chan, and as always, Royal/T's café will be serving High Tea and tasty Asian-Fusion cuisine!

Participating vendors include Chubby Bunny, Kawaii Carnival, MugiBunny, Twinkle Wish, Holley Tea Time, Oboro Charms, Amber and Topaz, Kawaii Goods, and Cat Nap Caps!

Staff recruiters from Anime Expo 2012 will also be in attendance! If you've ever considered working with the largest anime convention in the U.S., they'll be available to answer all your questions! Be sure to stop by their table for information on this year's convention.

Admission to Tune in Tokyo is $10, all ages admitted. The event runs from 8 PM - 12 AM.

About Royal/T
Located in Culver City, Royal/T is a playful blending of café, concept shop, and art exhibition space. The 10,000-square-foot space reflects the interior realm of fantasy that strongly influences the artist's included in Owner Susan Hancock's art collection. Royal/T's café is inspired by the meido kissa (maid café) phenomena of Akihabara, Tokyo's electronic district. About May J.
A multi-lingual J-pop singer-songwriter and TV host, May J. has her roots in Japan, Iran, Turkey, Russia, Spain and the UK. From a young age, May J. dreamed of becoming a singer. She took up piano, dance, voice training and opera lessons, and whilst attending high school at “American School In Japan”, she belonged to the vocal Jazz club. She has done a wide range of activities from song writing to modeling for clothing brands. At the age of 17, she debuted her singing career with her first mini album released in 2006. In 2009, she released her second album “Family” which ranked No.4 on the weekly Japanese billboard chart, “Oricon” and remained in the top 10 for two weeks, making it May J.'s highest ranked and best selling album to date. In this album, she revived the song “Garden” by Sugar Soul featuring Kenji, a 90's hit song. With this release, she received more than 1,500,000 downloads and stayed on the download charts for weeks. “Family” also hit the No.1 spot on the iTunes chart for weeks. In February 2010, May J. released her 3rd album entitled “for you” which peaked at No.9 on “Oricon” charts. This put both her albums in the top 10 of the “Oricon”. Shortly after this album's release, she went on her first solo live tour. She has also performed at some of Japan's biggest fashion shows including “Tokyo Girls Collection” and “Girls Award”. About Joe Inoue
Joe Inoue was born in Los Angeles, California under Japanese parents who moved to the states to follow their career. He grew up in an environment filled with music, and started listening to music seriously in his middle school years. He listened to as many types of music, no matter what the genre. In fact, he still does. That is where he got his versatility in creating music. Despite his birth in Los Angeles, Inoue never failed to learn how to speak fluent Japanese. He achieved this mainly by "reading crapload of comic books and watching Japanese tv shows", he says. Gradually, Inoue started recording his own materials on a multi-track recorder, with him playing every instrument, including vocals. In 2005, he decided to send few of his demos to Japan, and signed a record deal with Kioon Records. Joe contributed the song "Closer" as the fourth opening for the "Naruto Shippūden" anime series, and is also a correspondent for NHK World's "J-MELO" music show. Chubby Bunny, aka Michelle Nguyen , makes accessories that are cute, daring, and a little bit tubby. Fat and cute, Chubby Bunny bows are aesthetically adorable and fashionable all at once.
