ShiraVN Rebrands as Shiravune
TOKYO, JAPAN – December 18, 2020
ShiraVN, a Tokyo-based visual novel localization and publishing team, has announced that it will now operate under the adjusted name Shiravune. The move refocuses the brand on Shiravune's ocean-crossing mission to bring you games straight from Japan with high-quality translations.
In 2020, ShiraVN published PC ports of two games in the hit Utawarerumono series of tactics-RPG visual novels by developers AQUAPLUS, as well as TOKYOTOON's heart-filled and chaotic hyperdense new IP Marco And The Galaxy Dragon.
On the localization front, the team released the samurai mystery game Master Magistrate out of Early Access on Steam in June, followed by the dark and twisted adult-only experiences Eden's Ritter and Salthe, and for Halloween came the release of the Ryukishi07-written supernatural horror-romance Iwaihime. This last came on both Steam and the upstart 18+ platform Johren, with whose help ShiraVN was finally able to release the long-awaited superpowered detective visual novel Meteor World Actor in English & Chinese in a move that kindled hopes for the series's future continuation overseas.
In 2021, Shiravune will continue to produce and deliver great VN stories and bangin' experiences, with a wide catalogue of titles announced, suspected, and still wholly secret, and at least eight titles--large and small--in advanced stages of translation and development.
