Favorite Seiyuu (in progress) Rating
Angelic Layer (TV) #3: Atsuko Enomoto - voices the character of the short-statured heroine, Misaki Suzuhara. In this anime a country girl makes her first visit to the bustling metropolis, Tokyo and almost instantly discoveres the newest craze sweeping the nation: Angelic Layer. Was it destiny? Was it chance? Only through her extreme curiosity and stubborn determination to succeed will she know. I really love all the characters that Atsuko Enomoto has played and each one has been captured so well by her truly distinctive voice and subtle Osaka accent. Masterpiece
Astarotte's Toy (TV) Yukari Tamura - Asuha Touhara Very good
Bubblegum Crisis (OAV) Kinuko Oomori - Priscilla S. "Priss" Asagiri. Very good
El-Hazard: The Magnificent World (OAV) #1: Melissa Charles - who plays the adorable and spunky adventurer Allielle. She is Makoto's right hand woman and even though she is small she sure knows how to kick Bugrom butt. Unfortunately she is fooled into pairing up with Makoto disguised as her lover. Makeup and pretty clothes can only go so far, for when she crawled into bed to be with her sweetheart she got quite a suprise. El Hazard is somewhat of an anime of fandom days long gone for most fans, but is actually nowhere near as old as some of the earliest work that Mellissa has done. It's amazing that her voice is convincing enough to be mistaken for teenage schoolgirls. But I love her soft but squeaky undertones that just send shivers down my spine when she puts on that extra-cute, innocent tone. Regardless of not even being Japanese Melissa Charles has remained at the top of my list as most favorite seiyuu in Anime History. Very good
Hime-chan's Ribbon (TV) #2: Ikue Ohtani - plays the title character of this old-school magical girl series which is actually about two magical girls both played by Ikue-san. In the Magical World princess Erika must take a test to be granted a special title - she must create a magical object that becomes useful in the Human World. But she must give this object to an ordinary person that she chooses and that person happens to be Himeko a tomboyish schoolgirl that looks exactly like Erika. The degree of dedication and perfection that put into playing two identical characters with the same voice yet portraying completely different personalities is a feat that could have only been achieved by a master seiyuu like Ikue-san. Her voice has that gentle but scratchy quality that is brought out so well in two characters of opposing spectrums of sweet girlishness and innocence. Excellent
Kasimasi - Girl Meets Girl (TV) Kana Ueda - Hazumu Osaragi. Masterpiece
Kokoro Library (TV) #4: Chiwa Saitou - Kokoro. Masterpiece
Ouran High School Host Club (TV) Maaya Sakamoto - Haruhi Fujioka. Excellent
Ruin Explorers - Fam & Ihrie (OAV) Hekiru Shiina - Fam. Good
(The) Slayers (TV) #5: Megumi Hayashibara - ahh yes the mega anime superstar, probably recognizable seiyuu name known throughout the world, has a place in my heart as 5th most favorite anime seiyuu. She not only does the voice acting for some of the most famous characters in anime but she is well known for her opening and ending songs of dozens of popular series, including Ranma 1/2 and Slayers. She of cource plays the magic using bandit buster, Lina Inverse (who is also one of my favorite anime characters and the reason why I choose Slayers as the best body of work in Megumi-san acting career. Masterpiece
Steins;Gate (TV) Yukari Tamura - Suzuka Masterpiece
