As long as they throw in some economics I will be happy.

Great news. This one is definitely going on the "patiently waiting to get my grubby hands on the blu-ray" list.

YEEEESSSSSS! I've been waiting for Hosoda's next film to get announced, I can't wait for this.
I always loved 'Our War Game' from the Digimon series, so when I heard the idea from that was being refined for some movie called 'Summer Wars', I wanted to see it. I ended up being blown away, and then I went back to see TGWLTT and wasn't disappointed there either. Now I just need to see his One Piece film (hint hint FUNimation). |

"And for my next trick, I'll take this furry-bait concept and turn it into the universally acclaimed anime of the year!"
In all seriousness, if there's one thing in anime I don't want to see any more of, it's humanoid characters with animal ears and tails. But, seeing as this is the man who took the quick/cheap Tamagotchi-For-Boys that was Digimon at the time and turned it into something heartfelt and magnificent, and later took Digimon when it was a cheap and somewhat cheesy children's cartoon and turned it into an impeccable and even touching action flick, I have no doubts that this movie will be something special. I thought Summer Wars was better than most of Miyazaki's movies, so in my mind Hosoda no longer has to prove that he's an amazing director. Now all we have to see is whether the stars just aligned for him a few times, or if he's real legend material like Miyazaki, and if this new movie can match or top Summer Wars, I'll be darn near convinced of that. Also, I'm very glad to see all the talent besides Hosoda that's going into this movie. Sadamoto's one of the best in the business of course, and Hiroshi Ohno was the art director for Kiki's Delivery Service. |

Hmm, I hope this isn't another rehash of a previous film...

Sounds really terrible. He roped me in with summer wars. I won't be fooled twice.

I find it interesting that Hosoda created a new studio for this project. Reminds me of Maruyama having to set up Mappa initially to finish Kon's last movie (whose production is now on-hold). Seems like in this case they might have done so due to the lack of resources at the time of the production, not for lack of funding. I'd like to know more about the circumstances surrounding the decision.
Anyways, good to see Takaaki Yamashita reunited with Hosoda. |

Same here. I didn't love SW as much as I thought I would, but all the same, it had a powerful effect and it was quite enjoyable, so I'll absolutely be checking out this one too. |

Wolf Children?Well not exactly the direction I saw him going but alright I'll at least give it a chance strictly because I enjoyed Summer Wars quite a bit.Funimation will be picking this film up for sure in the next few years.
