No discussion of last night up yet? Well, I've got a couple pennies:

-Ali al Saachez? Really? We couldn't have been done with his last season? This series is plagued by villain-overload.
-On the plus side, Mr. Bushido is growing on me; the revenge angle gives him something interesting that Graham didn't have last season. His existence really negates the need for al Saachez, tho'.
-My DVR crapped out and I missed the before credits sequence of episode 5 (probably due to watching Baccano! on-demand). What was the press conference about, and what was the Creepy Teen Squad discussing?
-Side note: When I hear Creepy Teen Squad leader's name, Rivens, I swear they're calling him "Ribbons," and it makes me giggle.

Well I should hope they're calling him "Ribbons", given that's his name. Let's just say that all of his associates have names that are either equally as bad, or so much worse one cringes each time they're spoken.

Oh God. That's awful. I must have read the spelling elsewhere and assumed he wouldn't have a stupid, stupid name.

Of course, we also have a character named Allelujia...

I totally forgot to turn 00 on last night. Good thing that I've already seen the entire series!

In the last 2 episodes we have had the appearance of, you'll no doubt enjoy this, spoiler[Revive Revival] & there were mentions of 2 other characters called spoiler[Bring & Devine (God, I hope it isn't an animated 300+ pound drag queen)] - yeah, I went ahead & looked up the wiki on the innovators...

Boy, you can definitely tell that 00's soundtrack was done by Kenji Kawai - I hear bits of Vampire Princess Miyu & Moribito in it, good stuff.

Gundam seems to borrow from itself fairly often & so far, to me you've got:

A-Laws = Titans
Automatons = F91's Bugs

Could be wrong, of course, but that's how it looks so far.
Enjoying the season through the 1st 6 aired episodes, I'm hooked (again). Celestial Being needs to dump those uniforms though...

Names of those like Ribbons (no plot-relevant spoilers):

spoiler[Regene Regetta]
spoiler[Revive Revival]
spoiler[Hilling/Hiling Care (difficult to say which is the correct one)]
spoiler[Bring Stabity/Stability (ditto)]
spoiler[Devine/Divine Nova (ditto)]

Name of characters like Ribbons (plot-relevance spoilers; read at own risk):

spoiler[spoiler[Anew Returner]]
spoiler[spoiler[Tieria Erde]]

(double-spoiler-tagged for safety)

Yeah, what substance were they passing around during the meeting to decide on the characters' names?

I'm guessing Tomino showed up to give them some of his own before whispering incomprehensively and running away.

Really though...Gundam's always had ridiculous and/or inappropriate names and this is just an extension of that.

Yeah, there have been some winners in the Gundam-verse, eh? You've got names like Full Frontal (maybe the best of them all), South Burning (I'd get that checked out...) & an awesome last name like Purpleton....

Maybe it's Tomino period... Don't get me started on Aura Battler Dunbine, yeah, I'm talking to you Marvel Frozen... Hard to ignore someone named Shot Weapon too Cool

Oh yes, we had some fun tonight.

Episode 7, eh whatever. Ally didn't completely satiate himself with Sumaragi, so he goes for the lost childhood friend instead. Classic eroge move- we know how he kept his mind occupied those 4 years in captivity.

Episode 8 brings the lulz. I have to admit, Tieria knows what men look for in a woman. I would hit that like the Heavyweight Champion of the World if I didn't already know her naughty bits were pointing the wrong way from her hips.

In all seriousness, I think it distinguishes him from his fellow innovators. Their names are laughable, this is true, but they're laughable for good reason. They represent how the innovators don't quite get what it means to be human.

Louise looks hot too. On the other hand, Wong Lumay has no sense of fashion and is obviously stuffing her bra.

BTW, does Patrick remind anyone else of Larry Butz from the Ace Attorney games?

Well, I was rather touched by the events in episode 7. Sure, it may follow a classic setup, but it was just the way it was presented. It didn't seem fake or contrived. It wasn't just the interactions between spoiler[Ally and Marie] but also between spoiler[Marie and Col. Smirnoff].

Regarding episode 8, the main thing I want to know is what the secret about spoiler[Louise] is. I'm actually quite anxious about it for some reason.

True, someone needs to come up with one of those "name generators" (your porn star name, glam rock, etc.) for Innovators... I'm going to dub myself "Human Humanity" until it gets done.

Yeah, stuffing it with BOOOBS Twisted Evil

I must have missed this from the earlier episodes but I thought that the woman that Ribbons was always talking with was Shirin Bakhtiar (who I assumed was playing both sides)... I must have missed the name Regene Regetta up till now, or did I? They do look similar, does that mean that Shirin spoiler[is an Innovator too?]

I like Sergei Smirnov even more after these episodes, a very cool character.

Poor Louise... The scenes of her going for her pills & having them spill all over the place as she's scrambling to get them in her mouth are so sad... Are the pills spoiler[countering the effects of the Thrones GN particles or are they anti-depressants??]

Ah, I'm disappointed I missed the dance episode, that was one of my favorites. Eh, the dub probably would have ruined it for me, though.

My Innovator name is Advent Charming, by the way.

Another couple of great episodes!

I liked getting more backstory on Setsuna and Sumeragi. Oh, and poor Louise! She and Saji need to find their way back to each other soon.

Gab! My brain must be going to mush. I totally forgot 00 was on again. Even though I've already seen the entire series, I still enjoy seeing how they handle the US version of the show.

Misunderstandings can be so frustrating! Makes for good drama, though.

I also have to commend this show for making me think something is going to happen, then doing a U-turn in the last second to keep me guessing. Very good!
