V6 Boy-Band Member Gō Morita Marries Actress Rie Miyazawa

Singer, actor and V6 idol group member Gō Morita (39) announced his marriage to actress and model Rie Miyazawa (44) was announced on Friday via signed letters sent to Morita's fan club members and his agency. Miyazawa and Morita issued a joint statement stating they plan to support one another as family from now on, will come together to encourage each other as much as possible, and want to cherish their time together.
The couple co-starred in the stage play Vinyl no Shiro (Vinyl Castle) in 2016. Morita has continued as a member of Johnny & Associates's V6 male idol group since it was founded in 1995. The group has charted multiple top singles on the Oricon and Billboard Japan Hot 100 charts. Morita's turn as an actor landed him a role in the 2010 film adaptation of Osamu Dazai's No Longer Human novel.
Miyazawa starred as Kokiri in the live-action film adaptation of Studio Ghibli's Kiki's Delivery Service. She also starred in the live-action drama Her Love Boils Bathwater, Japan's submission for Best Foreign Language Film at the 90th Academy Awards. The role won her Best Actress at the 40th Japan Academy Prize. Her marriage to Morita is her second. She was previously married to surfer and entrepreneur Hiroyuki Nakatsu until 2016. The couple has one child.
Another V6 idol got hitched recently. Junichi Okada wed NANA actress Aoi Miyazaki last year. The other V6 members, Yoshihiko Inohara and Hiroshi Nagano are also married while Masayuki Sakamoto and Ken Miyake are single.
Collectively, the idol band performed theme songs for both Fairy Tail and InuYasha.
