Man Continues to Attend His Own Funeral in Hero Must Die Commercial

posted on by Eric Stimson
Also: more in-depth commercial

The guy who attends his own funeral continues attending it in the latest and third of a series of commercials for the upcoming PlayStation Vita game Hero Must Die (Yūsha Shisu.).

Once again, the deceased is pleased at first to find that the attendees are appropriately bereaved. They even praise him for saving a kid ("he was a good man till the end"). But then the angel points out that his father can barely control his rage. The dead guy then decides that "I hate this funeral!" once more, and begs the angel to let him redo his life.

This longer commercial offers a more informative take on the game. We learn that the hero has given his life to defeat the demon king that had ravaged his country. In appreciation of his valor, the gods grant him five extra days of life to address any lingering issues. Princess Flora (Rie Murakawa) is smitten with the hero but tells him to travel around the land to appreciate what he has saved. Lew (Ai Kakuma), a former comrade-in-arms, now finds herself entangled in a fight between humans and demi-humans. Sara (Hiromi Igarashi) hopes to rebuild the devastated church. Marian (Eriko Matsui) is a self-styled "genius scientist" aiming to restore the polluted land, water and air. Naomi (Toa Yukinari), a miner, needs the hero's help with a remnant group of demons. Bibi (Misato Fukuen) is a young merchant who wants to revitalize a ghost town. Yona (Ayahi Takagaki) is the hero's successor and stresses about the conflicts ahead. The hero must use his short afterlife to help these people as much as he can while listening to them tell him how great he was.

While she is only seen in silhouette in the commercial, the above poster also introduces Belanabel (Hisako Kanemoto), the demon king's daughter, who is rumored to be plotting his resurrection.

Hero Must Die is scheduled for release on February 25.
