In a way, I'm glad that the live-action Initial D movie is a product of Asian cenima; could you imagine how awful it would be if a Hollywood director got his hands on the property? I mean, I love The Fast and the Furious and all, but Initial D is all about character development, not neon undercar lighting and nawwwws.

OK so this is from the website, who can spot the not?

Quote:
It's a story about the fastest street racer of Mt Akina. Takumi, a delivery boy; Ryousuke, an engineer of speed; and Kyouichi, a professional racer; the the three of them become duelist of drifts.

For five years, 15-year-old Takumi has been delivering tofu in his father's obsolescent Toyota AE86 every morning. Not only has he become a good racer, but he has also unwittingly perfected the art of drifting.

He was never an aficionado of hill racing until he is asked by his father to drive his AE86 in a David and Goliath race against Night Kids' EVO IV. A glorious but unexpected victory awakens the competitive genes in his blood, while his overnight fame inevitably leads to hellraising races one after another, each one more perilous and exciting than the previous one.

Eh KungFu hustle wasn't that funny, not as good as his older stuff. HK cinema is way behind Korean film.

Well:

Seems like Keisuke's FD isn't in the film.

The Trueno is sporting a Carbon Fibre Hood, something that doesn't happen till Tak is well ingrained in Project D.

It looks like their trying to replicate the battle between Nakazato's Skyline R32 and Fujiwara's Trueno, with Ryosuke's FC following behind. However, numerous shots shows that the FC is squarely in the middle of the two cars.

In a previous News Clip, it looks like that Sudoh is more "Fast and Furious" than some choku-dori racer.

Am I missing anything?

KENNY BEE as Itsuki Tachibana

Father of Itsuki and owner of a local gas station.

ITSUKI Tachibana? Father of Itsuki? WTF?

Quote:
Chapman To as Itsuki Takeuchi

Takumi's best friend in school. Itsuki is a spoiled brat who yearns to be a street racer, but is all talk and no action

I don't remember him as being spoiled, at all.

Now to me this is starting to smell like Initial BS.

Monkey Peaches has a trailer. Jay Chou's pretty, but his hip hop doesn't come off smooth enough from what I'm hearing. Sorry, Eurobeat fans.

KungFu Hustle was a corny and stupid movie, yet funny enough to own.

No, check out the website. Directed by Andew Lau. Same guy that did the Infernal Affair move which I heard, there will be a hollywood remake.
