Anime Expo 2005's AnimEigo panel was hosted by company president and COO Natsumi Ueki and operations manager Scott Carlson.
The biggest news out of the panel on AnimEigo's anime line was that they will be re-releasing the Oh My Goddess! OAV using brand new video straight off the region 2 DVDs. They will also be including all the extras from the Japanese DVDs (except the Japanese trailers).
AnimEigo had a lot to say about Urusei Yatsura, which after many years of release, will finally be seeing the last volumes of it released by the end of 2005 or early 2006. UY Boxset Nine will go up for pre-ordering September, The tenth and final box in November-December timeframe. Boxset ten will deviate slightly from the previous release format, putting five episodes on four of the discs. The fifth disc of the set will be all extras. One of the highlighted extras was an hour-long interview AnimEigo conducted with the president of AIC.
Finally, they mentioned that the Samurai Cinema line, with titles such as Lady Snowblood and the Zatoichi re-release has done very well for them. Samurai Cinema will soon see Red Lion on DVD for the first time.
