Hayate the Combat Butler, Zettai Karen Children Manga Will Have Important Announcements in Shonen Sunday

posted on by Karen Ressler

This year's 31st issue of Shonen Sunday announced on Wednesday that the 32nd issue will publish a "super important announcement" related to Kenjirō Hata's Hayate the Combat Butler manga on July 8.

The website also states that "School Trip Level 5" is coming to an end, and teases a "new stage."

Hata's original manga inspired the first Hayate the Combat Butler television anime (2007-2008) and its Hayate the Combat Butler!! follow-up (2009). The Hayate the Combat Butler: Can't Take My Eyes Off You (Hayate no Gotoku! Can't Take My Eyes Off You) television anime aired in 2012, and the Hayate the Combat Butler! Cuties television anime aired in 2013. Sentai Filmworks has licensed all four anime adaptations.

In addition, the magazine announced that Takashi Shiina's Zettai Karen Children manga will have a big announcement related to the 10th anniversary project in the 33rd issue on July 15. The manga will be on break in the 32nd issue.

Shiina's sci-fi comedy series began in Shonen Sunday in 2005, and received a 52-episode television anime series in 2008, as well as a 2010 original video anime adaptation. Sentai Filmworks released the series in North America in 2012 under the name Psychic Squad. A spin-off anime focusing on the series antagonist Kyōsuke Hyōbu titled The Unlimited - Hyōbu Kyōsuke aired in 2013, Crunchyroll streamed the series, and Sentai Filmworks released the series on home video.
