Ro-Kyu-Bu's Japanese 'Primary School Girls Are Great' Shirt Cancelled

The online store for the character goods chain store Animate has cancelled the sale of a Ro-Kyu-Bu! T-shirt. The shirt (pictured at right) says "Mattaku, Shōgakusei wa Saikō Da ze!!" (Truly, Primary School Girls Are Great!!). The T-shirt was inspired by the third episode of the Ro-Kyu-Bu! anime.
According to a cache for the product website, T-shirt would have cost 1,575 yen (about US$20.50) and would have been released on October 7. Animate did not give a reason for the T-shirt's cancellation.
The character apparel and goods retailer Cospa is still offering the English version of the T-shirt, which says "Primary School Girls Are Great!!" That T-shirt is slated to be released in Japan at the end of October for 2,900 yen (US$38).
In the anime inspired by Sagu Aoyama and Tinkle's sports comedy light novel series, Subaru Hasegawa had just joined a high school basketball club when play is suspended because the captain is accused of being a lolicon. Subaru is then asked by his aunt to coach a young girls' basketball club, a "Ro-Kyu-Bu."
