The official website for the Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Boku-tachi wa Mada Shiranai (AnoHana) revealed on Tuesday that the television anime is inspiring a PlayStation Portable game. 5pb. will release the game developed by guyzware this summer.
The adventure game will include the anime's ending theme song "Secret Base - Kimi ga Kureta Mono" as well as scenarios not seen in the anime. Players will control the series' main character Jintan, and additional game contents will appear on the "Kyou no Menma" (Today's Menma) service.
The story follows several childhood friends who try to reconnect in high school after drifting apart. Mitsu Izumi's manga adaptation of AnoHana will debut in Shueisha's Jump Square magazine on April 4.
Produced by A-1 Pictures, the eleven-episode AnoHana anime premiered on Fuji TV's Noitamina block from April 11 to June 23 of 2011. Tatsuyuki Nagai (Toradora!, Toaru Kagaku no Railgun) directed the anime off the scripts by Mari Okada (Toradora!, Kuroshitsuji/Black Butler). Masayoshi Tanaka (Toradora!, Katekyo Hitman Reborn!) designed the characters, and the singer-songwriter REMEDIOS (Reimy) composed the music. The DVDs and Blu-ray Discs for the series have sold more than 270,000 copies.
