Namco Bandai announces game on eve of 1st Saint Seiya TV anime in 23 years

Namco Bandai Games announced on Saturday that it will release a game version of Saint Seiya Omega, the anime sequel which will premiere on Sunday. The game will ship this fall. The supported hardware platform has not been revealed yet, but more information about the game will be revealed later.

Saint Seiya Omega features a new generation of Saints in the storyline launched by Masami Kurumada's 1986-1990 Saint Seiya mythological fantasy manga and Toei's subsequent 1986-1989 television anime. In the story, Kōga is a 13-year-old boy who assumed the role of the Bronze Saint of the Pegasus constellation. Saori Kido and Seiya (who is now a Gold Saint) return from the first series.

The first new Saint Seiya television anime in 23 years will premiere on April 1 at 6:30 a.m. in Japan (March 31 at 5:30 p.m. EDT). A March 31 premiere event will be simulcast in Japan as well as in Taiwan, Brazil, and France.
