News Monkey Punch's Ranma

Monkey Punch's latest Anime, Cinderella Boy, premiering on June 21st in Japan, has a remarkable similarity with Rumiko Takahashi's Ranma 1/2.The main character of Cinderella Boy, named Ranma (a rare name in Japan) transforms into a girl, however unlike Ranma 1/2, Monkey Punch's character transforms at the stroke of Midnight, not when wet.
Beyond this basic plot-point however, the two shows differ significantly. In Cinderella Boy, Ranma is an adult detective, and along with Rera his partner, he runs a detective agency in Giraffe City. An arranged accident causes leaves Rera and Ranma in an unfortunate state where the two detectives swap bodies at the stroke of midnight. With Ranma dissapearing and the beautiful Rera appearing.
