Code-E Sequel Named, Dated: Mission-E in July

Avex's Pam! promotional magazine has revealed the name and premiere date of the television sequel to CODE-E "psychic buddy action" comedy anime series: Mission-E in July. (In the linked page, enter "13" in the lefthand column's "Page Number" field and select the "Go!" button.) Cast members Mai Hashimoto (Chinami), Katsuhito Nomura (Kotaro), Kaori Nazuka (Sonomi), Risa Mizuno (Yuma), Halko Momoi (Keiko), and Hiroshi Kamiya (Adol) will return, while Yuuna Inamura will play the new main lead, Maori Kimizuka. A website for the new series is listed, but not yet open.

If you're biting nails to the quick waiting for a sequel to Destiny, this OAV isn't it; this isn't a proper sequel, but a reworking of an already existing climax. However, it does provide a sense of closure that the original ending lacked.
This mishmash of elements borrowed from other fantasy and period pieces certainly looks pretty, but its merits are otherwise not enough to recommend it if reverse harem series are not normally your thing.

List the qualifications the series had to pass to improve on its rocky opening—lose the embarrassing theatrics, focus on the mysteries, beef up the characterization—and you'll find that this volume does them all.
Builds suspense with masterful skill, seizing the attention at the beginning of each episode, and holding it with twisty plot developments and clever mind games until there are simply no more episodes left to watch.
Ah! My Goddess fans will undoubtedly be pleased with what they see. Everyone else might find themselves a little bored by it all.
