License for fantasy adventure anime previously held by Geneon Entertainment
Media Blasters has announced its North American license acquisition of Seirei no Moribito (also known as Moribito - Guardian of the Spirit) by putting this anime's opening animation on its Kite: Liberator DVD release this week. The fantasy adventure series was originally licensed by Geneon Entertainment, before the company ceased sales and distribution in North America. Bang Zoom! Entertainment President Eric P. Sherman confirmed in December that his company was still dubbing the series for Geneon, despite Geneon's pullout. Next month, the anime's character designer, Gatou Asou, will release a new manga in Japan called Jin: Anime Seirei no Moribito Gaiden (Jin: Anime Moribito - Guardian of the Spirit Side Story) that will focus on the character Jin.
