Cameron Not Planning on Battle Angel after Avatar Film
posted on 2008-05-16 05:18 EDT
The Hollywood Reporter trade newspaper reports that Titanic director James Cameron wants "to do something a lot smaller" after he finishes his current Avatar action film project. He indicated that he wants to work on The Dive, a biographic romance about Cuban free diver Francisco "Pipin" Ferreras and Frenchwoman Audrey Mestre. Cameron told MTV in June of 2006 that he was working on both Avatar and an adaptation of Yukito Kishiro's Battle Angel manga as potential future franchises, but has not elaborated on his Battle Angel plans since then.
Thank you to Daniel Zelter for the news tip.

The (small) boost in emotional content notwithstanding, this is still the series to hit up for a watching experience that is consistently fun and never taxing.
This is a collection of gags in search of a plotline, and when it finally does find a story to tell, the change in tone is so abrupt that you end up wishing it had stayed pointless and stupid.
A young man becomes obsessed with a young woman who can transform into an alien biomechanical dragon in this weak effort from Gonzo. While not a total disaster, it does not give much hope for the rest of the series.
If this is the kind of stagnation and dullness that permeates the monster world, then we should all be thankful for being human.
The occasional spots of comedy still shine, but Shuffle!'s focus on romance is slowly running the series into the ground.
