First Full Gurren Lagann Movie Trailer Streamed

Film to open in Japan on September 6; series to run on American TV on July 28

The official Japanese website for the two movie remakes of Gainax's Gurren Lagann robotic mecha action anime series is streaming the first full trailer. (Adobe Flash Player 6 and Windows Media Player 7.1 or higher are required.) The first film, Gekijō-ban Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann: Guren-hen (Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann the Movie: Crimson Chapter), will open in Japan on September 6. Bandai Entertainment and the Sci Fi Channel will debut the series on American television on July 28.

Pretty Cure Episodes 1-14 Streaming
Though slavishly formulaic and distinctly kid-oriented, this series about two starkly contrasting 8th graders who become a magical girl duo still looks good enough, and is distinguishable enough in its action components, to warrant at least a sampling by anime fans with diversified interests.

Fushigi Yûgi -VIZBIG Edition- GN 2
Watase's Fushigi Yûgi is without a doubt one of the titles to set the standard for what “manga” in the United States has come to be. For this reason alone, it is a must-read. But even if you couldn't care a whit about its historical significance, it's still a fun story that may be enjoyed purely on its own terms.

Naruto GN 8-10
Some may be upset that the ongoing plot comes to a standstill in these volumes, but to throw them out as disposable would be a great disservice to the amount of character-building that is squeezed into the fight-after-fight structure.
