Hosoda's award-winning film opens on Seattle on Friday, later in NYC, LA
Bandai Entertainment and Kadokawa Pictures have announced that Mamoru Hosoda's award-winning The Girl Who Leapt Through Time film will play at Durham, North Carolina on October 6 and at Phoenixville, Pennsylvania (near Philadelphia) on November 24, 26, 28, and 29. Both cities will have the Japanese version of the film with English subtitles. It is also opening at Seattle on Friday for a run that lasts until September 4. The film updates Yasutaka Tsutsui's classic children's novel about a girl who discovers an ability to jump back in time — and the caveats that come with using this power. The film is screening later in September in New York and San Francisco.
