Nana Mizuki Puts 10th Top-10 Single on Weekly Chart (Updated)

White Album anime's "Mugen" opening lands at #3 with 45,000 sold

"Mugen," the 20th CD single from voice actress and singer Nana Mizuki, debuted at #3 on Oricon's CD single ranking chart for the October 26-November 1 week. The CD is Mizuki's 10th single to land in the weekly top 10, and her 9th consecutive single to do so. It sold about 45,000 copies since October 28. "Mugen" is the second opening theme song of the White Album anime. The CD single also contains the "Tenkuu no Canaria" opening theme song from the Tales of Symphonia the Animation: Tethe'alla-hen anime, the "Dear Dream" ending theme song from the Card Gakuen television program, and the song "Stories."

Mizuki became the first seiyū (character voice) with a #1 album on Oricon's weekly album chart in Japan with the June release of her Ultimate Diamond CD. Last year's "Trickster" single reached #2 with a personal high of 57,201 copies, and it was Mizuki's eighth single to rank in the top 10. Her Nana Mizuki Live Fighter Blue X Red Side became the first release by a musical artist to sell over 10,000 Blu-ray Discs.

Update: Last week's #1 single, the "River" song by the AKB48 girl group, dropped to #5 with with 16,943 more copies sold. Ken Hirai's "Boku wa Kimi ni Koi o Suru" theme song for the Boku no Hatsukoi o Kimi ni Sasagu film also fell from #3 to #6 with 13,653 more copies sold.
