Japanese TV Show to Film Haruhi Fans in L.A. Next Monday

Filming at Anime Jungle store for episode marking Haruhi film's release

Not-So-Daily Link of the Day: Cine-tsu, a Japanese television series for filmgoers, wants to film Haruhi Suzumiya fans in Los Angeles next Monday for an upcoming episode about The Vanishment of Haruhi Suzumiya (Suzumiya Haruhi no Shōshitsu) film.

The TV Tokyo program will film its segment at the Anime Jungle store in the Little Tokyo neighborhood of Los Angeles, and the store invites fans to come — cosplayers in particular, and Haruhi cosplayers especially. The event will start at 5:30 p.m.

The Haruhi film will open in Japan on February 6. Suzumiya Haruhi no Shōshitsu is the title of the fourth volume in Nagaru Tanigawa and Noizi Ito's original Haruhi Suzumiya light novel series about an eccentric, assertive girl who creates her own school club for her strange antics. The main story in this volume has yet to be animated. Little, Brown Young Readers is publishing the third light novel volume next July, and Yen Press will ship the fifth volume in Gaku Tsugano's manga adaptation this March.

Bandai Entertainment held the North American DVD launch and signing event for The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya television series at the same store in May of 2007.
