Aya Hirano Cancels April 18 Appearance to Recuperate (Update 2)

posted on by Egan Loo

The official website of the White Album anime series has announced on Friday that voice actress Aya Hirano will be unable to attend the "White Album Concert II" event on April 18 because of her poor health condition and the resulting need to recuperate. The announcement did not specify the cause of Hirano's health condition. Hirano played the lead female charater Yūki Morikawa in White Album, as well as Haruhi Suzumiya in the anime franchise of the same name.

Update: Hirano wrote in her blog on February 26 that she had checked into a hospital for a cold and was then discharged. She wrote on March 14 that she had been in a hospital again for gastroenteritis. Thanks to maaya for the news tip. [Via Hashihime]

Update 2: Hirano wrote on her blog on Sunday that she experienced symptoms of alopecia areata and insomnia recently, although a medical checkup ordered by her agency reported no abnormalities. Nevertheless, she received a leave of absence, and she noted that releases of her works will probably be delayed.
