Auditons to be held in Tokushima in southwestern Japan

The official website of the Machi*Asobi anime event has posted a Sunday update to announce that open auditions will be held in the southwestern Japanese prefecture of Tokushima for a new animation project from the studio ufotable. The studio is in the middle of revealing its "10 Biggest Announcements" of this year, but only three have been made public so far: a training program in Tokushima for digital animators, a Kamen Rider kamishibai (Japanese papercraft theater) for children in medical care, and the poster for this year's Awa Dance Festival.

This is the first indication of a new anime project from ufotable, the studio behind Tales of Symphonia the Animation, Kara no Kyōkai - the Garden of sinners, and Gakuen Utopia Manabi Straight! Last year, the studio worked on the Toriko event anime short and the Yawarakame online anime shorts. It has also been working on the ongoing Tales of Symphonia the Animation: Tethe'alla Episode project.
