An easygoing sci-fi adventure, content to rely on its cliché-retardant cast and intelligent action to paper over its gaps in momentum. Declines some after a dazzling start but remains effortlessly entertaining nonetheless.

The Secret World of Arrietty
A beautiful, carefully detailed and altogether pleasant wisp of a film that does absolutely everything – from the characters' personalities to the story construction to the emotional stakes that hold the whole thing together – in miniature.

Uta no Prince-sama - Maji Love 1000% episodes 1-13 streaming
For all of its oddness, Uta no Prince-sama is a compulsively enjoyable show, at least for those within its target audience. It aspires to be nothing more than what it is, a fun, fluffy, j-pop soaked reverse harem tale aimed squarely at the fangirls, and at that, it succeeds.

The World God Only Knows Blu-Ray
A master of dating sims who generally rejects reality must try to use his game skills on real girls in this comedy/drama from Manglobe. It succeeds at what it needs to do to be popular but never capitalizes on its full potential.

It took 24 episodes to get here, but the third volume of Fairy Tail finally shows the series living up to its potential.

It's clear that the show wants to go from being a good comedy to being a good series, period, and punch me in the face and bury me in a wall if it hasn't reached its goal by season's end.
