Viki, a website that streams authorized videos with crowd-sourced translations, is releasing four more television anime series in North America for the first time. Koutetsu Sangokushi and Don Dracula are available in Japanese with English subtitles, while the website is currently streaming The Three-Eyed One and Marvelous Melmo in Japanese without subtitles.
The first 19 episodes of the Koutetsu Sangokushi television anime series are available with English subtitles. Viki is currently streaming series' remaining episodes in Japanese with no subtitles. Produced by the anime studio Pure Magic (Saki, Moeyo Ken, Lamune), the anime first aired in Japan in 2007. The adventure story is a loose adaptation of the classic Chinese novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms.
All eight episodes of the Don Dracula television anime are streaming with English subtitles. Based on Osamu Tezuka's original manga, the series originally aired in Japan in 1982. The comedy story begins when the vampire Dracula's castle is bought and moved to Tokyo.
Viki is streaming all 48 episodes of The Three-Eyed One television anime. Also based on Tezuka's original manga, the series premiered in Japan from 1990 to 1991. The adventure romance story centers on a boy named Sharaku who travels to learn about the ancient three-eyed race of people that were his ancestors.
The website is streaming all 26 episodes of the Marvelous Melmo television anime adapted from Tezuka's manga. The series first aired in Japan from 1971 to 1972, and a "renewal" version with a new voice cast debuted in 1998. The magical girl story centers on nine-year-old Melmo who uses magical candy to become an adult and care care for her brothers after their mother's death.
Viki also added six anime that were previously released in English: Jungle Emperor Leo, Blue Blink, Legend of the Forest, Ambassador Magma, Hakugei: Legend of the Moby Dick, and Negadon: The Monster from Mars.
The website announced in March that it is streaming Leiji Matsumoto's television anime Ozma as it airs in Japan. Viki also previously listed Black Jack 21, Black Jack, Oniisama E..., Master of Epic, Waimo-kun, Astro Boy, Glass Maiden, and Penguin Girl.
