Man Arrested for Uploading Accel World via Share

According to Japan's Association of Copyright for Computer Software (ACCS), a 34-year-old male temp worker from Tokyo was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of uploading and allowing distribution of episode 8 of the Accel World television anime series without the copyright holders' permission. The suspect had used the Share file-sharing software program to upload the episode last June.
According to police investigation, the man has uploaded more than 1,000 animation files over the past four years, but he is currently being charged by ASCII Media Works for copyright infringement regarding Accel World and for uploading two other animated works.
