Dragon Magazine Teases Hitsugi no Chaika Announcement

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

The July issue of Fujimi Shobo's Dragon Magazine reported on Monday that an "important announcement" regarding Ichiro Sakaki's Hitsugi no Chaika (Chaika the Coffin Princess) fantasy light novels will be made in the September issue on July 20. Neither Dragon Magazine nor Ichiro Sakaki has revealed whether the announcement is about an anime, a drama CD, or something else. The magazine will also report on the previously announced Kamisama no Inai Nichiyōbi anime.

Sakaki launched the light novel series with illustrations by Nitro+'s Namaniku ATK in 2010, and Fujimi Shobo published the sixth volume in January. Shinta Sakayama began drawing a manga adaptation in Kadokawa Shoten's Monthly Shōnen Ace magazine in 2011, and Kanikama started a four-panel comic adaptation in Kadokawa Shoten's 4-Koma Nano Ace in 2011.

Sakaki's other works include Scrapped Princess, Strait Jacket, Magician's Academy, Polyphonica, CODE-E, and Outbreak Company - Moeru Shinryakusha which were all tapped for anime adaptations. The television anime adaptation of Outbreak Company - Moeru Shinryakusha was announced last month.
