Gekkō Kōtei no Excalibur storyline's 1st part also previewed before July 7 debut

The official website for High School DxD New, the second season of the High School DxD anime, began streaming a new promotional video to preview the unaired scenes that will be in Blu-ray Disc and DVD releases:

Each episode will have a director's cut with about three minutes of unaired footage on the Blu-ray Discs and DVDs.

The anime's site also began streaming a new promotional video to preview the first part of the series' Gekkō Kōtei no Excalibur (Excalibur of the Moonlit Campus) storyline on Saturday.

Issei Hyōdō, the dim-witted, lecherous main lead voiced by Yuuki Kaji, narrates both ads. The sequel will begin with the Gekkō Kōtei no Excalibur story from the third volume of Ichiei Ishibumi's original light novel series. The story centers around the shattered and reforged Excalibur swords that were stolen from the Vatican, including some that have been taken to Issei's town.

The main cast and staff are returning for the second season, which will premiere on July 7. Risa Taneda (From the New World's Saki, Oreshura's Kaoru, Say, "I Love You".'s Asami) joins the cast as the beautiful blue-haired sword fighter Xenovia dispatched by the Vatican. Maaya Uchida (Yuruyuri's Mari, Vividred Operation's Rei) plays Irina Shidō, the girl who joins Xenovia in the hunt for the stolen Excalibur swords. Haruka Yamazaki (Hayate the Combat Butler's Ruka, Vividred Operation's Mizuha) plays Aika Kiriyū.

The new season was announced with the 13th light novel volume, which shipped last September. The original light novel series follows what happens when Issei is killed by a girl on his first date ever. Issei is reincarnated as a devil, and from that day forward, he serves as an underling of Rias (Yōko Hikasa), a high-level devil who is also the prettiest girl on Issei's campus.

The first season premiered in Japan on last year, and Funimation licensed that season for North America for streaming and home video.
