Kadokawa Shoten announced in the September issue of Kerokero Ace, a shōnen manga magazine aimed at elementary and middle school boys, that the magazine would cease publication with that issue on Friday. Some of its titles will return in Bushiroad and Kadokawa's new magazine titled Monthly Bushiroad.

Several of the manga titles in Kerokero Ace are ending, including Phi-Brain: Puzzle of Battle, Jigoku Yōchien, Senja no Fūmashi, Super Banken! Pūtarō, Dōbutsu no Hayashi, and Transformers: Allspark.

Monthly Bushiroad will feature manga based on Bushiroad game franchises such as Cardfight!! Vanguard, which has been running in Kerokero Ace. Bushiroad has not announced its intentions to continue publishing Saint Seiya Omega.

Kerokero Ace launched in 2007. It has hosted series such as Sgt. Frog, Mobile Suit Gundam 00, Mini Van, Tengu-sama no Iu Tōri, Kugutsu-hime, Oshōman, Kerokero no Ijinden, and many others. It also serialized the Code Geass manga Bakumatsu Ibun-roku Code Geass (A Record of the Strange Tales of the Bakumatsu Era: Code Geass) and the 2008 Slayers spinoff manga Slayers Light Magic.
