Chizuna Nakajima's manga inspired TV anime from AIC Frontier

G-mode's Comic Meteor website announced on Wednesday that Chizuna Nakajima's bishōjo gag comedy manga Angel's Drop (Tenshi no Drop) will end in its 85th chapter on December 25.

The story centers on Botan and Shinobu, two childhood friends who enroll in St. Azumaria Girls' Academy. Their encounter with an "angel" named Un-chan lead to strange things happening in their lives. The manga openly describes itself as covering yuri, hentai, omorashi, and other elements of fetishism not usually seen in shōnen manga.

Nakajima launched the manga on the Flex Comix Blood site in 2011, but after Flex Comix Blood shut down a year later, the manga moved to Comic Meteor website. The fourth volume was published in June.

The manga inspired a television anime from director Kōji Itō (Megane na Kanojo, Geisters - Fractions of the Earth) and the anime studio AIC Frontier (Maji de Otaku na English! Ribbon-chan: Eigo de Tatakau Mahō Shōjo) this year. Rei Matsuzaki (Oda Nobuna no Yabō's Niwa Nagahide) played Botan, Mai Goto (Phi-Brain - Puzzle of God's Airi Mizutani) played Shinobu, and Hiromi Igarashi (Listen to Me, Girls. I Am Your Father!'s Hina Takanashi) played the angel Un.
