New releases from Manga Entertainment and MVM

On Monday November 10, Manga Entertainment is releasing the feature film Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods as a Blu-ray, a DVD and a Blu-ray Collector's Edition. The Collector's Edition is pictured right. All the home editions will include two versions of the film: an uncut version (105 minutes) and the theatrical cut (85 minutes).

Funimation described the story:

Following the events of the Dragonball Z television series, after the defeat of Majin Buu, a new power awakens and threatens humanity. Beerus, an ancient and powerful God of Destruction, searches for Goku after hearing rumors of the Saiyan warrior who defeated Frieza. Realizing the threat Beerus poses to their home planet, the Z-fighters must find a way to stop him before it's too late. Only Goku, humanity's Last Hope, can ascend to the level of a legendary Super Saiyan God and stop Beerus's from destroying Earth, and possibly the entire universe!

MVM is releasing the TV series Usagi Drop. The anime studio Production I.G adapted the 11-episode television anime series based on Yumi Unita's original manga. In the story, 30-year-old bachelor Daikichi (Hiroshi Tsuchida) discovers a little girl named Rin (Ayu Matsuura) in his grandfather's garden while at his grandfather's funeral. Rin is the 6-year-old daughter of Daikichi's grandfather, and Daikichi decides to take her in when no one in the family accepts the responsibility. The anime ran in Fuji TV's Noitamina block from July through September 2011.
