Animax Asia to Air Little Busters! Refrain Anime Starting on Monday

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Drama anime airs 2 episodes every Mon/Tue at 7:00 p.m. (JKT/BKK), 8:00 p.m. (SIN/PH)

International television channel Animax Asia announced on its Philippine Facebook page on Monday that it will begin airing the Little Busters! Refrain television anime on Monday. The channel is airing four episodes every week (two episodes each on Monday and Tuesday) at 7:00 p.m. in Indonesia and Thailand, and at 8:00 p.m. in Singapore and the Philippines.

Animax Asia describes the anime:

The Little Busters gang has reunited, with new friends among the old ones. However, peace for these fun-loving students does not last. Riki will soon start to learn about the truth behind his narcolepsy and the other mysteries surrounding the campus.

Is the world Riki is in right now, more than what it seems? What is the real world?

The anime series premiered in Japan in October 2013. The anime is a sequel to the original Little Busters! anime, which Animax Asia first aired in 2014, and recently reran during September. Both anime are based on Key's Little Busters! PC/PS2/PSP/PS Vita visual novel. "Refrain" is the name of the last scenario that is unlocked when players complete the six heroines' scenarios in the original visual novel.

Director Yoshiki Yamakawa and assistant director Chikara Sakurai directed the anime at animation studio J.C. Staff from scripts by Michiru Shimada. Haruko Iizuka adapted Itaru Hinoue and Na-Ga's original character designs for the anime. The original cast for the first season of Little Busters! returned to voice their roles, with the exception of Mio, whose original voice actress from the visual novel—Shiho Kawaragi—replaced Yuiko Tatsumi from the previous anime. Suzuyu performed the opening theme song "Boys be Smile."
