Etotama's Fumitoshi Oizaki directs anime ad for HappyElements game

Japanese developer HappyElements announced on its "Jūdai Happyō Sai ~Fuyu no Jin~" livestream on Friday that it is producing an anime commercial for its Merc Storia -Yujutsushi to Rin no Shirabe- smartphone role-playing game to commemorate the game's two-year anniversary. Fumitoshi Oizaki (Etotama, Place to Place, Ao no Kanata no Four Rhythm) is directing the commercial, and Encourage Films (Senki Zesshō Symphogear, Zetsumetsu Kigu Shōjo Amazing Twins) is animating it.

HappyElements showed character design sheets, storyboards, and key animation cuts from the commercial. Production on the commercial will finish in December, and it will be broadcasted at a date to be announced later.

HappyElements released Merc Storia -Yujutsushi to Rin no Shirabe- for Android and iOS devices in 2013. In the game, players create a character and gather allies to go on a journey to restore the memories of Merc, a girl trapped inside a bottle.

UJOY released an English version of the game in Southeast Asia for Android and iOS devices in July, but the company is shutting down the English version on December 20.
